Awareness at Play
The more we create, the more we realise that art is always accessible, as it is a matter of paying attention. When we become more aware of our senses in response to our surroundings, we are inspired and empowered.
Props, Light & Shadow
In classes I am often provoking my students to observe the play of light and shadow on our subjects and in our daily lives. Sometimes we blow bubbles, wear kaleidoscopic glasses, or hold things up to the light as a warm-up for our skill of observance. Becoming more aware of the limitless dance of shadow, light and color in our environments adds something of the spectacular to our lives and encourages wonderment.
